AG Pruitt files charges against nursing administrator
OK AG Scott Pruitt
Attorney General Scott Pruitt on Tuesday announced the filing of charges against an Enid nursing home administrator accused of taking money from a trust fund for nursing home residents.
Roberta Donaldson, 67, of Enid, is the administrator at Willow Haven Nursing Home in Tonkawa. She is charged with four counts of financial exploitation. According to the charges filed in Kay County District Court, Donaldson purchased furniture for the nursing home with more than $1,600 she took from a fund that held money in trust for residents’ personal use. An investigation by the Attorney General’s Medicaid Fraud Control Unit revealed Donaldson claimed she was given permission by the families of residents to use the money in the trust funds.
Donaldson turned herself in to Kay County authorities Monday night. If convicted, Donaldson faces up to 40 years in prison and fines of up to $40,000.
The Attorney General’s Medicaid Fraud Control Unit is the only Oklahoma law enforcement agency dedicated to the investigation and prosecution of Medicaid fraud. The unit also investigates and prosecutes and raises awareness of provider fraud and abuse of residents in Medicaid-funded nursing homes.
