“An Affair of the Heart”, reports record numbers
The unique crafts, antiques, collectibles, furniture, decorative items, jewelry, clothing and so much more drew shoppers from near and far. Connie Harris, one of the founders of “An Affair of the Heart”said she is always amazed and blessed by the vendors, shoppers and workers who make the show such an amazing success. As always, the local media were hugely successful in promoting the show. KWTV CHANNEL 9 was on hand Friday broadcasting from with Meteorologist, David Payne and other celebs from the station signing autographs and interviews were held for an upcoming gameshow.
Moore Monthly shot an upcoming PinOkies show with special guest Judy Cannon from “An Affair of the Heart”. They have joined forces with AAOTH to bring you this weekly internet show featuring three local ladies who are hooked on Pinterest. Angela R. O’Keefe with Women of the South, Stephanie Courtney and Ashley Miller both members of the Junior League.
KOMA featuring the amazing team of Lisa Sykes, Kent Jones, and Lynn Waggoner, were live from the Cox building each day of the show. KMGL’s Jennifer Leigh, “Magic Man” Jeff Roberts and Steve O’Brien rocked the house all three days of the show. JAKE’s Kevin Christopher and Owen Pickard kicked up the Country from the Cox Building each day. KSBI CHANNEL 52 and KYIS (98.9 KISS FM) both broadcase live from the show as well.
Booths at the show included: TOBY KEITH FOUNDATION, benefitting the OK KIDS KORRAL a newly constructed home opening this November for pediatric cancer patients and their families while they’re receiving treatment at The Children’s Hospital at OU Medical Center, OU Cancer Institute and other nearby facilities. BLUE STAR MOTHERS OF AMERICA, INC. Edmond/North Oklahoma City – Chapter 8 were on hand. The Blue Star Mother’s is a support group for each other as well as for our troops. They send care packages, post cards and letters from the community, as well as collecting and sending needed items to the wounded troops in the hospitals. They are also active in helping families and troops prepare for deployment.
Lisa Dalhem and Beth Beccera, daughters of the late Gayle Dyer, released their Mother’s cookbook, “Mimi’s Kitchen Cupboard”. “DANCING IN THE BIRD BATH”, an inspirational story of Gayle’s life and her faith, was again featured. Gayle was one of the founders/owners of “An Affair of the Heart”. A portion of the proceeds from “DANCING IN THE BIRD BATH”, continues to benefit the Toby Keith Foundation’s OK Kids Korral.
Members of the Oklahoma City Wood Carver’s Club demonstrated their skills. The club thrives on an interested, active membership that devotes its time and talents to a variety of programs which include: demonstrations, instruction, workshops, exhibitions, and social functions.
“An Affair of the Heart” is held in Oklahoma City at the State Fair Park in both February and October with the Heart of Tulsa shows in July and November. AND NOW A SHOW IN SAN ANTONIO, TX, is scheduled for June, 2014.
