Anchor Elizabeth Beaubien joins TV2

Elizabeth Beaubien, an Emmy award winning news anchor, joins 2 Works for You as morning anchor of 2News Today beginning October 6, 2014. Elizabeth worked as the 5pm, 6pm and 11pm anchor at KMIR, the NBC affiliate in Palm Desert, California.
Elizabeth is returning to her hometown of Tulsa. She graduated from Edison High School and Tulsa University, cheering for the Golden Hurricane. She left Tulsa to begin her journalism career in Bend, Oregon in 2001.
“I wanted to work for 2Works for You because this was the station I watched growing up,” says Elizabeth. “But also I love the sense of community and what they do to help people and solve problems.”
Elizabeth won the Emmy award for “Best Newscast” and was nominated for a best “On-Camera Talent” Emmy in the Anchor category. She was also nominated for Human Interest reporting. She is a 2013 California State Assembly “Woman of Distinction”. In addition, she received an AP award for her in-depth reporting on a murder investigation near Monroe, La.

Elizabeth is an avid hiker and animal lover. She has also done a lot of work with the International Medical Alliance, traveling to Latin America several times to assist in giving medical treatment to those who otherwise would not have access to medical care. She will be anchoring 2News Today morning newscasts as well as the 2News Midday newscast.
