Ben Gordon twice named Player of the Week
Oilers forward Ben Gordon For the second consecutive time Tulsa Oilers forward Ben Gordon has been named the Central Hockey League’s Player of the Week for the week ending February 23, 2014, presented by Oakley apparel. The 29-year old from International Falls, Minnesota scored two hat tricks in three games last week to lifted him into the Tulsa Oilers team scoring race with 73 points. The effort also elevated Gordon into second place in the Central Hockey League scoring race behind Denver’s Garett Bembridge who currently has 81 points.
Oilers games feature entertainment for all ages In all last week Gordon scored seven goals and had three assists in the three games last week and his plus/minus rating of +8. His hat tricks last week brought his overall hat trick total to five on the season thus far. Last season Gordon finished second to his linemate Ryan Menei in points, notching a 66 point effort before pulling up injured before season’s end.
Speaking of Gordon’s line, the union of Ben Gordon, rookie Adam Pleskach and Ryan Menei have been responsible for most of the points scored by Tulsa in the month of February.
Gordon and teammates will be back in action this Friday night when they travel to Wichita to take on the Thunder at 7:05pm in the InTrust Bank Arena.
