Dems about to 'go crazy'
Updated: Rep. James Lankford (R-OK) said today that more people had lunch at Sonic in OKC than signed up for Obamacare in Oklahoma. Governor Fallin called the numbers "embarrassing" and an example of the "incompetence of this administration."
Further, The Hill is reporting that House Democrats on Wednesday were expressing increased frustration at the Obama administration’s inability to improve the rollout of ObamaCare.
Democrats said they’re worried about "being dragged into this non-stop cycle" of bad news about the ObamaCare rollout, rather than celebrating the successes of the law they helped to pass, a Democratic aide said.
"They're voicing those frustrations with the administration," the aide said following a Democratic Caucus meeting where administration officials got an earful from exasperated lawmakers.
With the House vote just two days away, many Democrats are urging the White House to come up with an administrative alternative to legislation sponsored by Rep. Fred Upton (R-Mich.) that would allow insurance companies to offer their old insurance plans.
The GOP bill is a response to the nearly 5 million people who have seen their health plans canceled under ObamaCare.
Two centrist Democrats — Reps. John Barrow (Ga.) and Mike McIntyre (N.C.) — already have endorsed the Upton measure, but that number could rise if the bill comes up for a vote without a Democratic alternative providing some political cover.
A second Democratic aide warned that if the administration doesn't provide such a substitute by Friday, many members will "go crazy.”
White House press secretary Jay Carney on Wednesday said President Obama would announce “sooner rather than later” his proposed fix for those who have lost their health insurance because of ObamaCare.

Representative Lankford (R-OK) released a statement after the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Studies (CMS) provided the Obamacare enrollment numbers since October 1, 2013:
“The numbers the Administration released today are troubling. Only 346 Oklahomans were able to navigate the website and choose a health insurance plan on the federal exchange in drastic contrast to the tens of thousands of individuals and companies in our state that have received cancellation notices on plans they liked and wanted to keep. More people drove through my local Sonic in Oklahoma City today at lunch than have signed up for Obamacare in Oklahoma since October 1.
“The net effect of this law is clear – millions of individuals and families nationwide are losing their current healthcare coverage – and for what? So that a few thousand can run the gauntlet of a broken federal website in the hopes of gaining or regaining their coverage. As the January 1 deadline quickly approaches, these numbers show that Obamacare has led to more uninsured Americans and only a small number who have been able to sign up for or choose a healthcare plan through the exchanges.”
Speaking to the same report, Oklahoma Governor Mary Fallin said, “It is embarrassing that the Obama Administration cannot produce a functional website, especially when so many individuals are relying on that site to purchase health insurance for themselves or their families.
“Virtually everything this White House has told the American people about Obamacare has proven to be false. The president said the law would lower the cost of health insurance, but we know that state employees in Oklahoma are seeing their premiums rise by as much as 12 percent. He said if you liked your health insurance plan you could keep it. We now know for millions of Americans that has proven to be untrue.
Oklahoma Governor Mary Fallin
“Many of the people who are losing coverage are sick. In Oklahoma, for example, there are over 800 men and women with preexisting health conditions enrolled in the temporary high risk pool. All of them will lose their coverage by the end of the year. If the exchange is not functioning properly by December, they will find themselves uninsured. These are the people who most need our assistance, and yet they are being left high and dry by the incompetence of this administration.
“Everything about the disastrous launch of Healthcare.gov reinforces what many Oklahomans have been saying for years: Obamacare is an unworkable and unaffordable train wreck. It is clear that even some supporters of the law, like former President Bill Clinton, are now reaching that same conclusion.”
Former President Bill Clinton, while still a supporter of socialized medicine, has criticized President Obama in an interview saying that young people heard clearly that, “If you like what you’ve got, you can keep it.” To view the interview, click below.
