Director of Chickasaw clinic announced
Sally Hilburn, Director, Tishomingo Clinic
ADA, Okla. – Chickasaw Nation Governor Bill Anoatubby recently appointed Sally Hilburn, a Chickasaw administrative health care professional, to lead the Chickasaw Nation Health Clinic in Tishomingo, Okla.
“Mrs. Hilburn understands the important role healthcare plays in helping enhance the quality of life of the Chickasaw people” said Gov. Anoatubby.
“Her experience and dedication to serving the people she sees as friends and neighbors make her well-suited for this position.”
Hilburn, Wapanucka, began her Chickasaw Nation career path in June 1992 when she accepted a part-time summer youth position at the Tishomingo facility.
In her new role Mrs. Hilburn manages and directs the day-to-day operations and health care programs of the Tishomingo Health Clinic. She works to ensure coordinated health care delivery is based on consistent policies and procedures.

“It is an honor and privilege be selected as the director of the Tishomingo Clinic,” Mrs. Hilburn said. “I have had the opportunity to ‘grow up’ in the Chickasaw Nation through our wonderful summer youth program.”
She has witnessed much progress in Chickasaw Nation health care programs and services during her tenure.
“With the leadership of Governor Anoatubby, the Chickasaw Nation has prospered into the success it is today and I am blessed to be a part of it. I will continue to strive to enhance the overall quality of life Chickasaw citizens and all Native Americans.”
Real-world workforce experience Mrs. Hilburn gained through the tribal Summer Youth Program, which provides workforce training and experience to Chickasaw youth, was instrumental in her decision to pursue a career in Health Information Management, she said.
During the past 22 years Mrs. Hilburn has served the Chickasaw Nation in a number of positions including: Health Information Management clerk, Health Information Management Supervisor, Inpatient Billing clerk and most recently, Clinic Manager.
She was honored in 2009 with the Peer Award by the Area Directors of Indian Health Service.
She enjoys working in the Tishomingo Clinic and serving her friends and neighbors. “Our staff is like one big family. We want our patients to feel like this is their medical home.”
A native of Connerville, Oklahoma, Mrs. Hilburn is a 1993 graduate of Wapanucka High School. She earned an associate degree in Business Office and Medical Office from Murray State College and is currently studying Administrative Leadership at the University of Oklahoma.
Mrs. Hilburn and her husband Chad have two children, Macy and Devin Hilburn.
The Chickasaw Nation Tishomingo Health Clinic, 815 E. Sixth Street, Tishomingo, Okla., is a 53,000-square-foot health clinic which provides expanded services, a drive-thru pharmacy and dental services. Located in the historic capital city of the Chickasaw Nation, the new facility is more than four times the size of the original clinic and offers enhanced and expanded services to Native Americans.
