With enthusiastic elected, business and civic leaders attending; Pete Patel of Promise Hotels announced the company’s newest Tulsa project – a nine story 125 room mid-scale Hampton Hotel at the corner of Third and Cheyenne across the street from the BOK Center. It is the first high-rise hotel to be built in downtown Tulsa in 30 years.
Patel credits Tulsa County’s Vision 2025 infrastructure initiative for Downtown Tulsa’s revitalization saying he is delighted to build “the closest hotel to the BOK Center, which is the establishment that made this development and much of the downtown revitalization possible.”

Promise Hotels owns and operates ten hotels in Green Country with four more in development.
Tulsa development, engineering and design company, Ross Group, is a partner firm on the project. The Ross Group currently has four ongoing historical renovation projects underway including the International Harvester Building at Second and Frankford which will serve as their corporate office when complete.
The Hampton Inn announced today is the third of six planned hotel projects between Ross Group and Promise Hotels.

Mike Neal, president and CEO of the Tulsa Regional Chamber at the groundbreaking said, "Promise Hotels and Pete Patel are unbelievably dedicated to the community."
Mayor of Tulsa, Dewey Bartlett, said "There's a waiting list of practically every place downtown to find a place to rent or buy," he said. "Ten years ago, there weren't enough people even thinking about being downtown, much less live downtown. The change is dramatic."
Tulsa Today's office for a dozen years (until 2012), was east of Cheyenne on Third, and it is a fact from our observation that downtown was almost desolate after typical business hours for much of that decade. That is not the case now.
A large crowd attended the ground breaking.
Promise Hotels also announced a $20 million, 134-room Hilton Garden Inn that will wrap around the Oil & Gas Journal building on the southeast corner of Second Street and Cheyenne Avenue, though Patel said that project is being redone and may be bigger.
Patel said "Downtown is hot. "Real estate prices are up, and there are a lot of young professionals coming back downtown."
The hotel is expected to be complete by early 2017.
