Joe Dorman’s challenge for governor
Joe Dorman on the campaign trail
In an exclusive video interview Democratic Candidate for Oklahoma Governor Joe Dorman, 43, spoke with Tulsa Today at his campaign headquarters in Tulsa.
Answering a wide range of questions, Dorman, claimed in some ways to be a “conservative.”
“On many issues, I fall on the conservative side of politics,” Dorman said.

Asked to define the difference between Liberalism and Conservatism Dorman said, “That is tough to answer. You have to look at the classical definition and the modern. It is all based on each individual idea, thought, and issue that comes up at the capital.”
“I certainly don’t agree with many of the policies that have been championed by the National Democratic Party. On the flip side, there are many policies of the National Republican Party that I have disagreed with through the years,” Dorman said. “I look at myself more as a Sam Rayburn Democrat … he never lost touch with his constituents as he represented rural folks in that area, but also served as the Speaker of the House of the United States.”
