Silversun Pickups Coming To Cain's
L.A.-based Silversun Pickups will be playing Cain's Ballroom Tuesday night as part of their extended U.S. tour.
The indie rock band, whose style is often compared to The Smashing Pumpkins, includes Brian Aubert (lead vocals, guitar), Nikki Monninger (bass, vocals), Christopher Guanlao (drums) and Joe Lester (keyboards).
Their first album, Carnavas, was released in 2006. Two of album's four singles - "Lazy Eye" and "Well Thought Out Twinkies," would break the top 10 of the Billboard Modern Rock charts.
"Lazy Eye" is features on Guitar Hero: World Tour and "Well Thought Out Twinkies" is featured in the Tony Hawk video game Proving Ground.
Their second album, Swoon, was released earlier this summer.
Last week, MTV premeried the band's video for "Substitution," the second single from Swoon.

In various interviews, band members said their sound is influenced by My Bloody Valentine, the Velvet Underground and Sonic Youth.
