U.S. Sens. Endorse Bartlett For Mayor

U.S. Sens. Jim Inhofe and Tom Coburn, M.D., have endorsed Dewey Bartlett Jr. in Tulsa's mayor race.

In prepared statements, the two Republican Oklahoma senators said Bartlett's business experience makes him the best candidate.

"Dewey has the private sector perspective outside of politics that makes him the best choice for mayor," Coburn stated.  "He has provided leadership in his industry, he has executive experience, and he offers the best choice for Tulsa's future.

"Dewey's dedication to and love for Tulsa can be seen in his years of volunteerism and civic involvement," Coburn said.
      
Inhofe, a former Tulsa mayor himself, added, "Republicans and conservative Democrats in Tulsa should unite behind Dewey because he will lead the city based on conservative principles.

"Dewey is the candidate who can lead the city in terms of creating an environment for citizens to pursue opportunities for growth and prosperity," Inhofe said.

The mayoral election is Tuesday, Nov. 10.Bartlett faces Tom Adelson, the winner of the Democratic primary, and independents Mark Perkins and Lawrence Kirkpatrick.
"Dewey is the best choice for the job," stated Inhofe and Coburn.
