Hanson Kicking off New Tour At Cain's
Tulsa-bred Hanson is kicking off their new Use Your Sole tour at the Cain's Ballroom on Wednesday.
The group, made up of brothers Isaac, Taylor, and Zac, are best known for the 1997 hit song "MMMBop" from their first major album - Middle of Nowhere. They earned three Grammy nominations, Record of the Year, Best New Artist, and Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal.
Besides their music, the brothers had a well-publicized split with their label, Island Def Jam Records, which was highlighted in the documentary film, Strong Enough To Break. Hanson now records for their own independent label, 3CG Records.
The group also has spent a great deal of time bringing awareness of AIDS and poverty in Africa. They partnered with TOMS Shoes' "Shoe Drop" campaign, where the company donated one pair of shoes to a child in Africa for every one sold. During one tour, Hanson would ask fans to join them in a one-mile barefoot walk prior to each concert.
As part of the new tour, fans will get the chance to select a song for the group to play during selected stops by visiting the band's web site: www.hanson.net
The Use Your Sole tour also includes HelloGoodbye!
Advanced tickets are $32 and $35 the day of the show. Doors open at 6 p.m. To purchase tickets, click here.
