Tulsa County Sample Ballots Now Available
Tulsa voters can now check out sample ballots for the upcoming Sept. 8 primary election. Ballots can be viewed at the Election Board office, 555 North Denver Ave.
, during regular office hours - 8 a..m. to 5 p,.m., Monday-Friday. Samples also are posted at the Tulsa County Election Board web page, www.tulsacounty.org.
Choose the government tab, then BOCC Divisions and then click Election Board.
Sample ballots will be posted outside all polling places on election day, so voters can review them before voting.
For the Sept. 8 (Tuesday) primary, polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., according to Patty Bryant, secretary of the Tulsa County Election Board.
Bryant offered the following voting tips:
1. A valid is marking is made by filling in the arrow. Examples are shown on posters at the polling place and inside the voting booths.
2. If voters make mistakes marking their ballots, Bryant said they should not try to correct those errors. Instead, voters should return the spoiled ballot to the Precinct Officials, who will destroy it and issue a new ballot to the voter.
3. Take your Voter Identification Cards to the polls. “Your voter identification card can help precinct officials find your name in the precinct registry and it may also help them resolve the problem if you are not listed in the precinct registry.”
4. Voters whose names are not found in the precinct registry, or a voter who disagrees with the information shown in the registry, may need to cast a provisional ballot. A provisional ballot is sealed in a special envelope and counted after election day if the voter’s information can be verified by the election board, but requires the voter to be voting in the correct precinc
