Creed Reunion Tour At The BOK
Florida-based Creed, one of the most popular bands in the late 1990s and early 2000s, is bringing their post-grunge style of music to the BOK Center on Friday night
Despite three multi-platinum albums, the group disbanded in 2004. In late 2008, rumors began circulating that the group, with more than 26 million albums sold, would re-unite
On April 27, the group did just that with an announcement on their official web site. The original group – Scott Stapp (lead vocals), Mark Tremonti (guitar), Scott Phillips (drums, keyboards) and Brian Marshall (bass) are back with a new album, “Full Circle.
“Indeed, ‘Full Circle’ represents the band at its best, with the first single, ‘Overcome,’ spotlighting Creed’s remarkable transformation and welcome comeback, onto the rock scene,” the group said on their web site.
“Everything we are and used to be is buried and gone,” Stapp says. “I’m entitled to overcome.”
Co-founder Tremonti, also commenting on their web site, added, “when we split, no one thought we would ever get back together again. But five-six years go by and things change. We realized what we had built was more important than any of our individual quirks.”
Many considered Creed a Christian rock band because of the many religious and spiritual messages within their songs. While most of the band members are Christians, Stapp has repeatedly disagreed with that label
In one interview, Stapp said, “No, we are not a Christian band. A Christian band has an agenda to lead others to believe in their specific religious beliefs. We have no agenda!
Special guest Staind, with more than 15 millions albums sold over the past 13 years, will open the show.
Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the show starts at 7:30 p.m. Ticket prices range from $27 to $87 and can be purchased here.
