NBA Preseason Exhibition: OKC Thunder to face Miami at the BOK Center October 14th
A year has passed and it’s still hard to believe that Oklahoma is the proud home of an NBA team. After a season that saw what once was the Seattle Supersonics, now known as the Oklahoma City Thunder, play to sellout crowds in OKC it's once again time for our NBA team to grace the friendly confines of the BOK Center with an exhibition game.
While exhibition games are typically where your casual fan will get to see the true superstars of the teams ride the bench after playing an obligatory few minutes, the game in Tulsa w
ill prove to be exciting as a former NBA championship winner will oppose the OKC Thunder on October 14th, the Miami Heat. Gone are the likes of Shaquille O’Neal from the squad, but they still have Dwayne Wade, MVP of the 2006 championship squad, and John Lucas, former Oklahoma State Cowboy and former Tulsa 66ers inaugral season player from the D-League.
The Thunder will bring the likes of Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook to Tulsa to face the Heat, along with several prospects who if they don’t make the team might be assigned right here in Tulsa to play for the 66ers of the NBA D-league across the street from the BOK center in the Tulsa Convention Center.
This will be the second NBA exhibition game to be played in the BOK Center, the first one played last year featuring the OKC Thunder and the Houston Rockets. Good seats are still available at the BOK Center, through Tickets.com and the OKC Thunder website.
