From now through Nov. 22, natural and organic non-perishable foods can be donated at Whole Foods Market, 1401 East 41st Street. The goods will be given to the Community Food Bank to help Oklahomans in need.
“We are encouraging people to donate natural and organic holiday products to help those in need this holiday season,” says Elizabeth Walker, Director of Marketing for Whole Foods.
918 Coupon Queen is teaching a free “Buying Organic on a Budget” coupon workshop at Whole Foods Market on Thursday, Nov. 19 from 7-9pm and will encourage participants to donate their savings to benefit the food bank.
“Oklahoma is the 8th hungriest state in the nation and 1 in 5 Oklahoma children lives in poverty. My mission is to give people smart shopping strategies so they will always have plenty to eat and can give back to their family, church and community,” says 918 Coupon Queen, Sarah Roe.
Metro Builders Supply is also giving a 10% discount to anyone who donates at Whole Foods and is holding a drawing for all who donated for a chance to win a Kitchen Aid Mixer. The winner will be chosen on Twitter via @WFMTulsa on November 23, 2009 at noon.
918moms.com and Whole Foods will also serve a Thanksgiving meal with the donated food to Domestic Violence Intervention Services recipients on Thanksgiving Day from 12pm-2pm.
