Full Week of Gigs at Cain's Ballroom

It is a full week of gigs at the Cain's Ballroom.  If you are looking for something to do this week, the only person you have to blame is yourself. 

There are plenty of different musical varieties to choose from.  Below is a list of the shows going on the week of February 1 - February 6, 2010.

Monday, February 1 - The Used with Atreyu and Drive A  www.theused.net   Tickets:  $29.00  Doors open 6:00 pm, Show starts at 7:00 pm

Tuesday, February 2 - Reverend Peyton's Big Damn Band with Red Eye Gravy  www.bigdamnband.com  Tickets:  Advance $13.00/ Day of $16.00  Doors open 7:00 pm, Show starts at 8:00 pm

Although the family-based act—which is comprised of fingerstyle guitarist Reverend Peyton, his wife and washboard player Breezy Peyton and drummer/brother Jayme Peyton—have only been around for three years, in that time period these country-blues aficionados from rural Indiana have played more than 250 shows annually and logged more miles on their van than most acts who have been around for a decade.

Wednesday, February 3 - That 1 Guy with El Paso Hot Button  www.that1guy.com  Tickets:  Advance $12.00/Day of $15.00  Doors open 7:00 pm, Show starts at 8:00 pm

Fans and first-time show-goers alike can expect what The Spokesman calls a “Home Depot meets Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band” performance, centered around That 1 Guy’s inventive instrument, the Magic Pipe: a seven-foot tall collection of swiveling pipes, metal gears, bass strings and electronic buttons, all connected by a rainbow of colored-wires.  It is music you have to see to believe.

Friday, February 5 - Eric and the Adams with Dante and the Hawk and Motive for Management  http://erichiman.com/  Tickets: $10.00  Doors open 8:00 pm, Show starts at 8:30 pm

Eric Himan is so grassroots, his face is green. Though his music tells a different story. Without the help of record labels, booking agents, publicists, or management, Eric Himan is touring to more places, getting great press coverage, and still has time to run his record label, Thumbcrown Records, home to his six studio albums. He just released his newest (selling out of his first shipment before the drop date), Resonate, and has five years of solid touring in the US under his belt. Magazines in the LGBT community took notice right away (The Advocate, OUT Magazine, Instinct) and newspapers (such as the Boston Herald, Pittsburgh-Post Gazette, and Phoenix New Times) interviewed him to find out what makes this work horse stay in the game despite obstacles such as major label artists, rooms that are booked by big agencies, and finding his audience.

As you can see it is a big week for Cain's and Cain's 2nd Stage.  Get out and support the Tulsa music scene.
