66ers Game Airs Nationally
The Tulsa 66ers will take their four-game winning streak to televisions across America this Saturday, March 13 as they face the Rio Grande Valley Vipers at State Farm Arena in Hidalgo, TX. Tip off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. CST and the game will air nationally on the VERSUS network on a slight tape-delay at 10 p.m. CST.
The Tulsa 66ers roll into the Rio Grande Valley armed with Oklahoma City Thunder assignees Byron Mullens and Kyle Weaver, along with NBA D-League All-Star Mustafa Shakur. The teams meet for the fifth time this season, with the record knotted at two-apiece.
VERSUS’ presentation of the NBA D-League provides fans with greater access to the game and its players through microphones worn by players and coaches; in-game interviews; locker room access including pregame, halftime and postgame speeches; and innovative camera angles. All NBA D-League action on VERSUS is presented in HD.
Peter Young serves as the play-by-play announcer for the game and he will be joined in the booth by analyst Thurl Bailey. Locally, Cox Cable in Tulsa has scheduled the game on Cox Channel 251 and Dish TV customers find the game on Dish Channel 151 according to team officials.
The Tulsa 66ers, who were purchased by the Professional Basketball Club LLC on July 31, 2008, are the minor league affiliate of the Oklahoma City Thunder. The Thunder are one of four teams in the NBA (Houston Rockets, Los Angeles Lakers and San Antonio Spurs) who have an ownership agreement with their minor league affiliate. The 66ers play their home games at the Tulsa Convention Center in downtown Tulsa. For more information on the Tulsa 66ers, log onto tulsa66ers.com.
