Oilers bow to Kings Twice.
DeSOTO, MS-As Oilers broadcaster Steve McCall might say, it's time to park the zamboni in the barn. The Oilers season is now officially over.
The Tulsa Oilers ended their 2009-10 campaign where they began in DeSoto Mississippi with two games against the Riverkings. Unlike back in October, where Tulsa mounted a surprising 6-3 victory against the Kings they instead dropped the final pair of games 6-4 on Friday night, and 5-2 on Saturday night.
On Friday Troy Riddle would score what would be the final hat-trick of the season for Tulsa, and Travis Banga would add a fourth goal, but the Kings Glenn Detuello...a trade from Wichita, would equal Riddle's feat and with help from Elias Godoy, Ryan HelHeld and Ken Davis to secure the win.
Derek Eastman and David Alexandre Beauregard would be the final two goal scorers for the Oilers this season, but in the end it would be goals from Derek Landmesser, Ryan Held, Ken Davis, Bobby Chaumont, and Louis Dumont that would strike up the band for the Oilers swansong for the season.
The Oilers finish the 2009-2010 season 28-29-7 for 63 points and out of the playoffs.
The Oilers are taking reservations for season tickets for the 2010-11. Information on seat selection and pricing can be obtained at tulsaoilers.com, or by callin 918-632-PUCK (7825).
