66ers set to host first playoff game in franchise history Thursday
TULSA, OK. - The Tulsa 66ers will add another chapter to their most storied season in the franchise’s five year history on Thursday, when they play host to their first playoff game ever. The Sixers are set to tip off with Head Coach Nate Tibbetts’ former team, the Sioux Falls Skyforce, at 12:30 pm at the Tulsa Convention Center. Doors will open at 11:30 am.
In his first season with Tulsa, Tibbetts has lead the 66ers to their best record in franchise history (27-23). Tibbetts joined the Sixers after a four year stint with Sioux Falls, serving the last two as head coach and compiling a 53-47 record including a playoff berth during the 2007-08 season.
The NBA D-League playoffs will feature a best-of-three game series format, with the lower seeds in the first round hosting the first game then playing game two and three, if necessary , on the road. Following Thursday’s game the Sixers will travel to Sioux Falls to continue their series on Friday night.
Tickets for game one are available at the BOK Center box office and the Tulsa 66ers office. Special ticket packages for Thursday’s contest include lower bowl seats, a hotdog and a soda for just $11. Fans wanting to take advantage of the $11 special must contact the Sixers office at 585-8444.
