Hot Club of Cowtown coming to the PAC
Looking for something to do Friday night? Do yourself a favor and join Hot Club of Cowtown at the Tulsa PAC this Friday night. The band, who have been together since 1997, are here once again to leave you with a night to remember. Hot Club of Cowtown has become the leading ambassador of hot jazz and Western swing through the unstoppable power of their invigorating live show.
Fiddler Elana James, guitarist Whit Smith and upright bass player Jake Erwin bring a fresh new take on the sounds of 1930’s hot jazz of Stephane Grappelli and Django Reinhardt and Bob Wills-style of Western Swing. Ralph McLean of The Belfast Telegraph had this to say about the band in 2008 “One of the finest performances by a visiting American country act I’ve witnessed for a very long time. They lifted the roof ….a pretty much perfect country trio at the very top of their game.”
Since 1997, Hot Club of Cowtown have released 10 albums with their latest being Wishful Thinking in 2009. The band has toured with the likes of Willie Nelson and Bob Dylan and has appeared on A Prairie Home Companion and $40 a Day with Rachel Ray.
