City Offices Close for Furlough Friday
City Hall and other city offices will be closed Friday, May 28, for a furlough day – the last one of Fiscal Year 2009-2010 – and then on Monday, May 31, for Memorial Day. Public safety and mission critical operations, however, will operate as normal. Residents who need assistance with a water or sewer problem may call the City’s 24-hour emergency number, 596-9488.
The furlough on Friday will not affect trash service and curbside recycling, both of which will operate as normal on that day. The City’s greenwaste site, 10401 E. 56th St. North, also will be open on Friday as usual from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Because Memorial Day is a City holiday, trash service will not operate, and the greenwaste site will be closed. Customers whose trash usually is picked up on Mondays and Thursdays should put their accumulated trash at the curb on Thursday, June 3, with twice the allowable amount of yard waste (if applicable).
Tulsa Parks recreation centers will be closed Friday and Monday, but the parks’ outdoor facilities will be accessible as usual. The City of Tulsa Animal Welfare Shelter at 3031 North Erie Ave. will be open on Friday, and then closed on Monday.
Mohawk and Page Belcher golf courses, as well as Tulsa Zoo, will be open both Friday and Monday. Gilcrease Museum will be open on Friday, and then closed on Monday according to its usual schedule. The Tulsa Performing Arts Center will be open on Friday, and then closed on Monday.
