Shock adds two to roster

TULSA, OK. - The Tulsa Shock (3-4) recently announced a pair of roster moves that appear to improve the squad that has slowly been improving since the season began. Gone are recent free agent signee Ashley Walker and rookie from the University of Oklahoma, Amanda Thompson. New to the team are WNBA veterans Kiesha Brown and Jennifer Lacy.

An eight-year veteran out of Georgia, Brown averaged 3.8 points per game in 34 games last season with the Connecticut Sun. The 5'10" guard has spent time with Washington, Houston, New York, Minnesota and Los Angeles over the course of her professional career. Brown has averaged 37 percent from the field and 3.4 points per game during her career.

Lacy, a four-year veteran out of Pepperdine, averaged three points per game last season in 32 games for the Atlanta Dream last year. In four WNBA seasons split with Phoenix and Atlanta, the 6'4" forward has averaged 2.4 rebounds and 4.1 points per game. Lacy is the first player from the West Coast Conference to make a WNBA roster.

Thompson was the first player drafted by the Shock after the franchise moved to Tulsa. Walker was on the Shock roster for just six days and compiled nine minutes of playing time in two games with Tulsa. The Shock signed Walker after trading Shavonte Zellous to the Indiana Fever for a second round draft pick in the 2011 WNBA draft.

The Shock is set to begin a three-game road trip on Friday before returning to the BOK Center for their next home on Saturday, June 19 against the Minnesota Lynx. Tickets are on sale for all future Shock games at the BOK Center box office, online, or by calling 599-WNBA.
