Latta joins Shock
The Tulsa Shock announced today that they have added Ivory Latta to their 11-player roster. Latta, a 5'6" guard, who has three years experience in the WNBA spent the last two seasons with the Atlanta Dream. She spent her rookie season with the Detroit Shock.
In three seasons she has averaged seven points per game. Latta played her college ball at the University of North Carolina where she helped the Tarheels to back-to-back Final Four appearances in 2006 and 2007. She is also the all-time leading scorer in South Carolina high school history with a total of 4,319 points.
To make room for Latta on the roster, the Shock released rookie guard Natasha Lacy. Through 16 games this season, Lacy averaged six points and three assists per game.
Latta will make her Shock debut when they play at the Indiana Fever on Thursday night. She will see her first action at home on Tuesday, July 13 when the Shock will host the Los Angeles Sparks at 6 p.m. in a nationally televised game on ESPN2.
