Ted Nugent Tramples and Hurdles into Tulsa
Legend: a person or thing that inspires legends. If this definition holds true a legend will be making his way to the Cains Ballroom Sunday, July 18, 2010.
Ted Nugent brings his "Trample the Weak, Hurdle the Dead" tour to Tulsa for what is sure to be one wild night. Nugent, who is known for his outspoken conservative views and ultra-man hunting and shooting prowess, as much as his incendiary guitar work most assuredly will be holding nothing back.
The famed axe man from Michigan who started out as lead guitarist for The Amboy Dukes, has made himself very much the embodiment of a legend through music, politics, TV and radio. His list of accomplishments and conquests are as long as the rants he is famous for over left-wing agenda, and in most cases carry the same amount of humor.
Uncle Ted is truly a man that has seen it all and done it all and lived to tell about it in his own way. From helping to form the multi-platinum selling rock group Damn Yankees, to creating and marketing his own hunting gear and apparel to playing to the troops on USO Tours. He is a live and die true American icon that will not be silenced or tamed.
Nugent recently held a benefit concert in Ardmore, OK for Corporal Chad Anthony of the Ardmore Police Department. Anthony was injured in a motorcycle crash and had exhausted his paid leave and still has a long way to full recovery, so in true Ted style he put on a show to honor the officer (Ted is a deputy sheriff and reserve officer in several districts in the country) to help get him care and offset expenses to for his extended leave. That is just Ted, not a hand out, a hand up.
I could easily go on and on about this man and not even make a dent in who he is or what he does. The Motor-city Madman is an enigma of sorts that must be experienced. This is your chance to do just that.
