Rascal Flatts Comes Back to BOK
With six albums and a string of hit songs, Rascal Flatts brings their energetic show back to the BOK Center Friday, July 23, 2010.
Rascal Flatts is arguably the most successful country group in the history of the genre. Since its inception, Rascal Flatts has been composed of three members: Gary LeVox (lead vocals), Jay DeMarcus (bass guitar, vocals) and Joe Don Rooney (lead guitar, vocals). LeVox and DeMarcus are second cousins who were working in a Nashville bar when their guitarist could not make it to a gig one night. DeMarcus asked Rooney to set in for them and the rest, as they say, is history.
They have released 26 singles that have turned into ten number one hits. These guys are heavy hitters that know how to put out the hits, so much so that they have released 2 editions of Greatest Hits Volumes.
The group has an uncommon youth demographic (18–25) for country music (where the average listener is 44 years old). Keeping their popularity intact in an industry that can be quite fickle has been quite a chore, but one they have met with enthusiasm and charm. Never shying away from the spotlight, they are a mainstay on most awards shows. Winning quite an impressive armload including, ACM Top New Vocal Duo Or Group 2000, ACM Song of the Year ("I'm Movin' On") 2002, CMA Vocal Group of the Year 2005, CMT Music Award for Group Video of the Year ("Every Day") 2009 to name a few.
Rascal Flatts' shows are heavy on special effects, including videos, pyrotechnics and laser lights. So be prepared to be blown away by the trio as they play through some of their biggest hits, as well as, some new songs off 2009 release Unstoppable.
