66ers announce 2010-11 season schedule
The Tulsa 66ers, fresh off of the best season in franchise history, announced their 2010-11 NBA D-League schedule today. The Sixers start the season with a pair of games at Bakersfield beginning on November 19. The home opener is slated for Nov. 26 against the Iowa Energy at the Tulsa Convention Center.
The team will have 50 regular season games, with 24 taking place at the convention center. Also included in the schedule is the 2011 NBA D-League showcase that will be held January 10-13 in South Padre Island, Texas.
“We are pleased that 18 out of our 24 home games will be played on weekends at the Tulsa Convention Center,” team President Jim Brylewski said. “We will continue to provide the opportunity for our fans to see professional basketball while having an enjoyable evening of family entertainment at affordable prices.”
Last season Tulsa advanced to the league finals, eventually falling on a last-second shot to the Rio Grande Valley Vipers. They set franchise records in wins (27) and attendance, averaging 3,043 fans per game.
“The entire Tulsa organization is eager to build on last season’s success,” 66ers head coach Nate Tibbetts said.
The Vipers will make their first trip to Tulsa, since defeating the 66ers in the finals, on December 5. A return trip is slated for March 26.
Season and group tickets are now available for the 2010-11 season at various affordable options. Individual game tickets will go on sale in late October. For ticket information fans are asked to call (918) 585-8444, or visit the team’s website at tulsa66ers.com.
