Disturbed and Avenged Sevenfold, along with Stone Sour and Halestorm, will be featured on the main stage of the forthcoming, first annual Rockstar Energy Drink UPROAR Festival. Formed in Chicago in 1996, Disturbed have sold over 11 million albums worldwide, making them one of the largest grossing rock bands in recent years. The band has released three consecutive studio albums that have debuted at number-one on the Billboard 200. The band was was originally called Brawl but was re-named in 1996 and recorded demos but did not play any live shows, the band signed a record deal and released The Sickness, which launched them to stardom. It has sold over four million copies in the United States since its release.
Avenged Sevenfold, from Huntington Beach, CA emerged with a metalcore sound on their debut Sounding the Seventh Trumpet, which included screaming vocals and heavy guitar riffs. The band changed their style to more of a mainstream hard rock style. The band continued to explore new sounds with their self titled release and enjoyed continued mainstream success before their drummer, James Sullivan, "The Rev" died of a drug overdose in 2009. Despite this setback, the band continued on with Dream Theater drummer Mike Portney and released their fifth album Nightmare in 2010.
The Rockstar Energy Drink UPROAR Festival will feature a full afternoon and night of activities, including a concourse midway filled with vendors and activities and a daily wrestling tournament featuring the Detroit-based Blue Collar Wrestling Alliance. So if you like white trash wrestling and rock, this is an event you do not want to miss.
