BOK Center ranked 5th nationally.
Pollstar ranks Tulsa arena 15th in the world
The honors continue for the amazing BOK Center.
Pollstar, a nationally recognized authority on concert and event ticket sales ranked the BOK 5th in the United States and 15th worldwide in ticket sales based on the period between January and September of this year.
The BOK Center has hosted many top events in 2010 including: George Strait, Eric Clapton, Black Eyed Peas, Bon Jovi, Nickelback, Brooks & Dunn, Michael Buble, Justin Bieber, WWE Raw, John Mayer and the sold-out second anniversary concert featuring Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers.
On October 22nd, Jeff Foxworthy, Bill Engvall and Larry the Cable Guy will play a show in the arena and on November 12th, Elton John and Tulsa native Leon Russell will share the BOK Center stage. In April 2011, Lady Gaga is scheduled to perform.
The arena hosted the 2010 Conference USA tournament and is home to the Tulsa Oilers hockey club, Tulsa Talons of the Arena Football League, and the WNBA‘s Tulsa Shock. .The TU Golden Hurricane plays a regular season game there once a season , (the next one facing the OSU Cowboys on December 8th).
The BOK Center will also host the first round of the 2011 NCAA Basketball tournament in March. Major sports entertainment events like WWE Raw, Arenacross and the Monster Jam monster truck show have also made stops at the BOK Center.
General Manager of the SMG-managed facility, John Bolton, was thrilled with the news. “It’s amazing that the BOK Center has moved into its third year of business with such continued success. The Tulsa community and outlying region have supported all types of entertainment at the BOK Center, which is the reason we have achieved this national recognition.”
