T-R-O-U-B-L-E on it's way to Tulsa; Travis Tritt at River Spirit Friday

Travis Tritt, one of the most popular country music singers of the 1990's, is coming to Tulsa. Tritt, a Marietta, Georgia native, will be playing at the River Spirit Event Center Friday night at 7 p.m. The 1990 recipient of Billboard's Top New Male Vocalist award is on tour while working on a new album and starting his own label.

Tritt broke into the mainstream world of country music with the 1990 album "Country Club". The title track from the album reached spent 26 weeks on the Hot Country Singles and tracks chart, topping out at number nine. The second single "Help Me Hold On" marked his first number-one hit before the album went on to go double-platinum.

Tritt developed an outlaw image early in his career. His music which leaned on the boundary of a blues/ southern rock mixture was a stark contrast to the music of the other popular country artists of the time that included Garth Brooks, Clint Black and Alan Jackson. This led to a long road before the Nashville music scene fully embraced him.

Tritt finally broke through that wall and in 1992 was inducted into Nashville's famed Grand Ole Opry. He went on to place the singles "Here's a Quarter (Call Someone Who Cares)" and "The Whiskey Ain't Workin'" from his 1991 album "It's All About to Change" at number two on the charts. 

19 years and nine albums later, Tritt brings a bag full of hits to a show that promises to be worth the price of admission.
