Sustained attack gives Tulsa a 48-35 victory over New Orleans.
NEW ORLEANS, LA.-- The Tulsa Talons notched their first back-to-back victory on Friday night when they defeated the New Orleans Voo Doo 48-35 in the New Orleans Arena.
Talons quarterback Matt Bassuener rushed 55 yards on 14 carries and scored two touchdowns in the contest, and Brandon Copeland caught 3 touchdown passes in the Talons first appearance on the NFL Network’s “Arena Football Friday.
The Talons defensive unit was fierce in the game, with Darien Williams and Fred Shaw forcing two fumbles and Shaw intercepting a Danny Wimprine pass to stall out the Voo Doo offensive advance.
The win on Friday night was the first time in the 2011 Talons season that the Tulsa team has notched two wins in a row, with the previous victory coming against the division-leading Chicago Rush on May 7. That Talons hope to mnake it 3-in-a-row when they take on the Kansas City Command on Saturday, May 21st in the BOK Center.
