Green, who was a two-year letterman at Nebraska, will report to fall camp on August 2nd with the Tulsa newcomers. Tulsa received Green’s scholarship papers this morning.
Green will sit out the 2011 season due to NCAA transfer rules, but will have two years of eligibility remaining beginning with the 2012 campaign.
The 6’4” quarterback played in 17 career games and had four starts for the Cornhuskers. He completed 54-percent of his passes (66-of-122) for 657 yards and five touchdowns in his two seasons. “We’re excited that Cody has decided to continue his education and football career at The University of Tulsa,” said Blankenship. “Cody is a solid citizen and a good student who is a perfect fit for our University. He combines tremendous athletic ability at quarterback with a desire to pursue a top-notch education from a top-100 academic institution.
“Cody now gives us four scholarship quarterbacks on the current roster. With the graduation of three-year starter G.J. Kinne following this season, Cody will give us an experienced player to compete with Kalen (Henderson) and Joseph (Calcagni) for next year’s starting quarterback position,” added Blankenship.
