Indictments by Federal Grand Jury announced
Thomas Scott Woodward, United States Attorney for the Northern District of Oklahoma, announced the results of the December 2011 federal Grand Jury Wednesday.
The following named individuals have been charged with a Federal crime or crimes by the return of indictments by the Grand Jury. The return of an indictment is a method of informing the defendant of alleged violations which must be proved in a court of law beyond a reasonable doubt to overcome a defendant's presumption of innocence.
THREE ALIENS INDICTED FOR REENTERING THE UNITED STATES WITHOUT CONSENT AFTER PREVIOUS DEPORTATION
Three aliens were charged in separate Federal indictments with being found in the Northern District of Oklahoma after each had previously been removed and deported from the United States and not obtaining the express consent of the Secretary of Homeland Security before reentering this country. On September 15, 2011, Miguel Angel Rodriguez, 30, a citizen of Mexico, was identified in the Tulsa County Jail after he had been removed and deported at or near El Paso, Texas, on March 24, 2004. On September 30, 2011, Franklin Armando Navarro-Chacon, 24, a citizen of Honduras, was identified in the Tulsa County Jail after he had been removed and deported at or near Chandler, Arizona, on April 24, 2008. On September 30, 2011, Freddy Chapa-Valle, 27, also a citizen of Honduras, was identified in the Tulsa County Jail after he had been removed and deported at or near Chandler, Arizona, on August 23, 2007.
THREE MEN CHARGED WITH RECENT TULSA BANK ROBBERIES
TULSA, Oklahoma - Three men were charged in two separate indictments for the November robberies of an Arvest Bank and a Bank of America. Vernon Hill, 26, and Stanley Hill, 24, both of Tulsa, are accused of the armed robbery on November 5, 2011, of the Arvest Bank at 218 South Memorial Drive, Tulsa, Oklahoma. The men are alleged to have brandished a .45 caliber Glock pistol during the bank robbery. Stanley Hill is also charged with possessing the .45 caliber Glock and nine rounds of ammunition after being convicted in September 2006, Tulsa County District Court, on a felony drug charge. Armed bank robbery is punishable by up to 25 years imprisonment and the charge of brandishing a firearm in committing bank robbery carries a mandatory consecutive 7 year sentence.
In a separate and unrelated indictment, Ronald Paul McAllister, 51, of Tulsa, is accused of committing the November 18, 2011, robbery of the Bank of America at 4847 South Peoria Avenue, Tulsa, Oklahoma. Bank robbery is punishable by a sentence of not more than 20 years imprisonment.
MAN CHARGED WITH POSSESSING FIREARM AFTER SIX PREVIOUS FELONY CONVICTIONS
Rico Starks, 23, of Tulsa, is alleged to have possessed a .22 caliber revolver and 13 rounds of ammunition on November 12, 2011, after previously being convicted on six felony charges in Tulsa County District Court in 2008.
Two additional indictments and a superseding indictment were returned by the Grand Jury that remain sealed.
