The Aloft hospitality room rocked Tuesday night as Steve Kunzweiler announced that his opponent in the race to replace Tim Harris as Tulsa County District Attorney had called to concede the contest. The hotly fought, litigated and widely debated race was over.
With his family beaming beside him, Kunzweiler said, "Every day we fight battles for Tulsa County. Every day we get up — even though it’s going to be a tough job — we get up and we do the job for the people. I am so proud of my Tulsa County DA family.

“I’ve been granted a privilege for the next four years to hopefully provide public safety for Tulsa County. … I will do this community proud. I thank God — thank you, God — for putting me in Tulsa County,” Kunzweiler said.
With all 262 precincts reporting, Kunzweiler gathered 11,879 votes or 55.8 percent of the total to Fred Jordan's 9,409 (44.2 percent).
Jordan expressed disappointment, of course, in the results, but told the daily paper, “Tomorrow’s a new day, and I’m excited to see what God has planned for my life and (to) head off in a new direction.”
