For the fourth straight year, Campaigns & Elections trade magazine has awarded an Oklahoma company its top award for advertising in a political campaign.
Majority Designs, a creative company owned by A.H. Strategies, won Friday for the nation’s best newspaper advertisement in a local campaign which featured the Oklahoma City renaissance under Mayor Mick Cornett in his re-election bid.
The Reed Award was announced at a Campaigns & Elections awards banquet in Las Vegas, Nevada on Friday. The advertisement was titled “A Big League City” after the book written by State Senator David Holt which chronicled how Oklahoma City, under Cornett, attracted the NBA’s Thunder to Oklahoma City.
Majority Designs also was nominated in three other print categories this year for print advertising. A year ago, the company won consulting awards for the Best Earned Media in the country during Tulsa Mayor Dewey Bartlett’s re-election race. The Bartlett campaign put the Kathy Taylor campaign on the spot after a Taylor stalker was stopped by Tulsa police. The company also won for the Best Get Out the Vote plan in the country for the Bartlett campaign.
“We like to compete in this particular contest because it pits our creative team against the best of the best in the country, and we’re delighted to continue our success for four straight years,” said Fount Holland, the founding partner of A.H. Strategies. “Considerable credit should be given to our art director Darrell Todd and to our entire creative team,” Holland said.
