Oklahoma’s multicounty grand jury reconvenes

The Oklahoma’s multicounty grand jury reconvenes today in Oklahoma City. The grand jury will meet through Thursday, Jan. 23, at the Oklahoma Attorney General’s Office, 313 NE 21. The multicounty grand jury was requested by Attorney General Scott Pruitt and approved by the Oklahoma Supreme Court in September 2012. It is led by Assistant Attorney General Megan Tilly, chief of the AG’s Multicounty Grand Jury Unit.

The state’s multicounty grand jury has jurisdiction to investigate criminal matters in all 77 counties, assisting local law enforcement as well as handling matters of state interest. Each month, grand jurors meet to hear testimony for two to three days. The proceedings are closed to the public. The 13th Oklahoma Multicounty Grand Jury concluded in August 2012 with 25 indictments, charging a total of 31 individuals and was assisted by 113 state and local law enforcement agencies.
