Rogers County Fair celebrates 100 years
Metropolitan residents and visitors worldwide are welcome to join in the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Rogers County Fair. Will Rogers would be proud of the event set for September 11 - 14 at the Claremore Expo Center with no admission or parking charge.
The carnival and midway will open Thursday and Friday 6-10 pm, Saturday 1-10 pm and Sunday 1-5 pm. There will be rides for children of all ages! Wristbands are available for all-you-can-ride each night for $20 or individual tickets as guests may select.
Amazing food vendors are scheduled this year. Back by popular demand is Cactus Jack’s BBQ, featuring gourmet burgers and BBQ sandwiches. Konnie’s Koncessions will offer chocolate covered bananas and cheesecake. Other items sure to gain rave reviews are the fried pickles, gourmet egg rolls in unique flavors, funnel cakes, sno-cones and more!
The Expo Hall will be open to the public Thursday through Saturday, 9 am to 10 pm with exhibits Claremore volunteers both adults and children have worked hard to stage this year. Merchants will also offer a variety of awesome unique shopping.
Kids and those new to country living will enjoy the Southwest Dairy Farmers’ mobile milking parlor. You will get to watch the instructors demonstrate how to milk a cow, describe how the milk goes from the farm to consumer, and watch the milking process.
Kids can also enjoy goat roping, a fun activity that gives kids a chance to try team roping on foot. Oklahoma Chainsaw Carvings will be back again this year to do carving demonstrations on Friday and Saturday! Last year they created some amazing pieces including an owl and Will Rogers!
