Patriots convened Saturday at the Stoney Creek Convention Center in Broken Arrow to set leadership and the organizational path forward for Tulsa County Republicans (TCGOP). Common-sense ruled as they declared America normal (sane) again. Thus President Donald J. Trump’s second administration has ground level organization with hearty official confirmation in the heart of fly-over country.
Does that mean the road will be smooth? Of course not. Democrats control the City of Tulsa by a sham joke of a vote and Leftist Narrative Operators in media have begun a $14 million effort to force complete control. Oklahoma Writers statewide are raising voices and building platforms. Americans did elect, by overwhelming popular vote, a disruptor and Okies know something about that.
Leadership has demonstrated themselves individually dynamitic over time and include Chair Melissa Myers and Vice Chair Brent VanNorman, State Committee Members Angela Strohm and Paul Hassink, with District Committee Members Amy Marsh and Shelley Gwartney.

For those following the Oklahoma Republican (OKGOP) leadership controversy, TCGOP is now on the side of bottom-up rule rather than top-down authoritarianism. Most expect financial transparency and membership inclusion from this new team.
A total of 412 delegates plus guests attended, which is an increase of several hundred from the previous cycle. As an old lion of the party, this writer was delighted at the positive tone and spirit of participants. No bones were broken, no blood lost, and most seemed to enjoy the adventure.
First time delegate Michael Fletcher declared, “I was impressed by high levels of participation. As a delegate last cycle to the Kentucky GOP Convention, Tulsa County, from my memory, is impressive in size. Granted the large attendance provided challenges and proceedings were too slow, too boring, and too time inefficient which generally appeared disorganized.
“The speakers were interesting, but I don’t know these people yet. The up-and-coming politicians were good to hear – again, impressive coherent talents. I am highly confident MAGA won the day and the future for the party in Tulsa County. Key platform issues highlighted by speakers and participants individually were supportive of Trump Admin on all the major points,” he continued.
“I did not review platform or rules online prior to convention and I would like printed copies of rules and platform for review at the beginning of the convention day. I immensely enjoyed meeting good people. I believe the future of the party is bright and people optimistic that MORE MAGA is the focus. In my humble Kentucky and now Oklahoma view, this new Golden Age will be further advanced by the 2028 election of JD Vance.
“All that said, the funniest thing that happened today was when a 70ish aged lady confronted me accusing me of being Sen. Lankford, I replied that is the meanest thing anyone has said to me recently,” Fletcher said with a laugh.
Oklahoma Senators James Lankford and Markwayne Mullin were not present at this largest County meeting of Republicans in Oklahoma, but they are expected to attend and speak at the State GOP Convention in May.
Many Republicans are still mad at Sen. Lankford for his inane border betrayal, his pandering proposal for a massive national park in downtown Tulsa and other flips and flops on policies Conservatives cherish.
Sen. Mullin is better loved by grassroots Republicans for representing Okie Attitudes, but it is troubling that he sits on the Armed Services Committee while owning stock in Raytheon and Lockheed Martin. Maybe that is a “financial advisor” decision, but one would think that to avoid any appearance of impropriety, an advisor should be instructed not to buy any stock in a company the good senator regulates. This issue was recently discussed on a Tucker Carlson interview titled “Nancy Pelosi Stock Tracker Chris Josephs: How to Get Rich by Investing Like a Politician” [@ 00:56:02].
This coming Saturday, Oklahoma County Republicans will meet and, like Tulsa, face the choice in leadership “bottom-up or top-down.” With any luck, the grassroots will continue to victory, as they have in multiple counties, but other counties’ intrigue is… not always clear to those not native.
Oklahoma has voted for Donald J. Trump in majority in all seventy-seven counties during the past three elections. We often do common sense here despite a bizarre state constitution, corrupt court system, occasional criminal officials, and shamelessly self-aggrandizing elected fools. The people demand individual Liberty, we will “Okie Up” to keep it, and have a little fun in the process.
Well written! It gives me hope that the Tulsa GOP can start to gel before the state convention. Lankford and Mullin have issues for sure. Mullin did well when he had the EPA authorize only one brand valve to be used for their equipment. He bought stock just prior to releasing the news to the press and benefitted well because of it.
